PETRU BOTEZATU is one of only a few fresco muralist masters living and creating in today's world. Though frescoes traditionally are large works decorating palaces, cathedrals, and other public buildings, the artist has found a way to create smaller pieces, treated as traditional paintings, after applying the plaster directly to the canvas or panel. The use of acrylic paint enables him to paint as if he were using pure water pigments. Thus, these paintings have an aged look, with time worn edges and gentle cracks, enhancing the impression that they have just been removed from some ancient wall.

Rondo Capriccioso is an excellent example of Renaissance reminiscent, fresco-based painting with a suave, Boticellian feel, contemporarily styled; aerial yet still impetuous. There is music flowing from this image. There is an undeniable pre-classical atmosphere transporting the viewer into another world.

As with all painting by Petru, the Solar Harp embodies his perpetual artistic effort of creating images which express, in a highly transfigured manner, an idea, either poetic, symbolic, or metaphoric. The sun overflows the universe with rays of music, becoming under the instrumentalist's fingers, a solar harp.
